For shop counters & storefronts

Digital signage for the counter — no subscription, no tablet.

Apex Mini sits at the register or the window and shows your socials, your hours or today's promo. Swap it from your phone in seconds — no monthly fee, no dedicated tablet, no printed flyers to redo.

Under $99 a panel3 slots, 96 characters eachShowcase runs with no signalUSB-C or internal battery

No subscription, no tablet

It's a display you own outright, not a screen you rent by the month. There's no per-screen licence: your settings live in your Apex account and are cached on the panel so it keeps showing them.

Swap the promo from your phone

Today's special, a new booking link, a sale sign — update it from the app in the time it takes to reprint a flyer, without the reprint.

The rotating sign survives a Wi-Fi drop

In Showcase mode the slots you last saved are stored on the panel and keep cycling, so a flaky shop router doesn't take your sign down mid-service. Docked mode, the clock-and-weather layout, does need Wi-Fi.

USB-C at the register, battery on the move

Leave it plugged in behind the counter, or run it off the internal battery for a pop-up stall or a market stand — an estimated 6+ hours, or longer off a power bank.

Set to look like your signage

Seven typefaces, six border styles and your own text, icon and border colours per slot. There's no logo upload, so the shop name goes on as text in the typeface closest to yours.

A clock and weather when it's quiet

Switch it to Docked mode out of hours and it's a desk clock with weather and a 4-day forecast. That mode needs Wi-Fi, and you switch between the two yourself.

How it works at the counter

Set it up once, update it anytime.

01Place it where customers look

Counter, window, waiting area — the clip-on case and reusable adhesive make it easy to reposition without a fresh install each time.

02Load your handle, hours and a QR

Your socials, a booking link, today's promo — three slots of up to 96 characters each, from the app or any browser, no design software required.

03Change it whenever you need to

New promo this weekend? Update it from your phone in a minute — no reprinting, no re-ordering signage.

A worked example

Three slots, set for a counter.

Slot 1 · Who you are

THE CORNER ROASTERY · OPEN 7–3

Name and hours as plain text, up to 96 characters. Retype it when the hours change instead of reprinting the card taped to the door.

Slot 2 · Today

TODAY: FLAT WHITE + PASTRY $9

The one thing you'd otherwise write on a chalkboard. Rotation between slots is yours to set, anywhere from 3 to 60 seconds.

Slot 3 · QR

Scan to order ahead

The caption under the code; the link is a separate field. A short URL keeps the code simple, and people scan it standing at the counter, about arm's length away.

Questions

Counter questions, answered.

Is there a monthly fee?

No monthly fee to keep a panel running, and no per-screen licence. A panel is a one-off under $99 and the Apex app is free.

Do I need a tablet or a media player?

No. The panel is the whole thing: a 2.79-inch screen, battery and Wi-Fi in one clip-on case. You set it up from a phone or a browser.

What happens if the shop Wi-Fi drops?

The rotating sign keeps running, because the slots are saved on the panel itself. Docked mode, the clock and weather layout, needs Wi-Fi and shows a needs Wi-Fi screen without it.

Can I put my logo on it?

There is no image upload. A slot holds text, one of ten built-in icons and a QR code. Animated backgrounds come from a catalogue Apex curates, and some of those are marked Premium.

How do I change the promo?

From your phone in the Apex app, or from the web panel in any browser. An online panel picks up a change within a few seconds, and the app writes straight to it over Bluetooth once it has been paired.

Can I run several at different counters?

Yes, but each one is paired and edited on its own. There is no bulk tool for updating a row of panels at once, so allow a couple of minutes per panel.

How close do people have to be to scan the QR?

About arm's length. The code is roughly 21 mm wide on a 2.79-inch panel, so it suits someone standing at the counter or the window. A short link scans fastest.

Can it run a market stall with no power?

The internal battery is an estimated 6+ hours of continuous cycling rather than a measured figure. A USB-C power bank covers a full market day.
